This year, Tankersley Parish Council will be hosting a WWI Commemoration Event, joining other communities from around the country, in a national lighting of beacons.
The annual bonfire event has been joined with the commemoration service, and will make this poignant night, one not to be missed.
There will be food and refreshments available from the Welfare Hall, along with live music, a commemoration service, bonfire and firework spectacular.
The event is free to attend, with collections being taken on the night, for the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.
Timings for the event are as follows;
5pm – Food and drink available from Tankersley Welfare Hall, pie and peas and other yummy treats available.
5.45pm – Georgie Harrison will be on stage to entertain you all with her amazing voice.
6pm (approx) – Lighting of the Bonfire.
6.40pm – WWI Commemoration Service, led by Canon Hale of Tankersley St Peter’s Church.
7pm – Beacons of Light, national beacon lighting event.
7.05pm – Ringing out for Peace, national bell ringing to commemorate the end of hostilities.
7.10pm (approx) – Firework Spectacular. A finale not to be missed.
