After years of lobbying by Tankersley Parish council, BMBC has agreed to extend the footpath from Newroad, to the company shop around the bend at the bottom of Lidgett lane.  This will mean School children from Pilly Green and surrounding estates will not run the risk of being killed either trying to cross the road or walk in the road, on their way to school.

The trees along the route have already been cut down in preparation.
