Peace Garden rededicated PDF Print E-mail

Mayor re-opens Peace GardenThe Peace Garden in Birdwell was redidicated on Monday 10th November and a new plaque revealed bearing the inscription

"At the going down of the sun; And in the morning we will remember them"

The service was conducted by Rev. Keith Hale.

The plaque and garden was reopened by the Mayor Cllr Ken Sanderson.

Pupils from Tankersley School were also in attendance, the Mayor of Penistone, Cllr Paul  Hand-Davis was also in attendance with members of Tankersley Parish Council.

The site has been recently tidied up by Tankersley Parish Council, and Neighbourhood Pride.  Bulbs will be planted, and new gates should have been in place to replace the old ones.  The council were badly let down by a local firm
