The owners of the Motocross track and facility which opened over the Summer in Tankersley, adjacent to the Travelodge, have decided not to apply for retrospective planning permission, at this time. Barnsley Council has asked them to return the site to its former state, which the owners have done and the enforcement officer has visited the site and was satisfied with the remedial works done.
Recently the owners of the site have approached the TPC, and may be looking into a similar use for the site, involving running Motorbike trials organised by the Barnsley Trials Club, as well as the Motocross Racing. There were discussions regarding noise, access, environmental concerns.
TPC has a difficult job in balancing the needs of the community, with the interests of bikers. We would love to hear your thoughts, would you be in favour or against these proposals?
