Further to the reports received last week, regarding the closure of Lidgett Lane by Yorkshire Water, the Parish Council have today received information which confirms that a full road closure will have to be put in place.
The following letter is to be sent to neighbouring residents over the coming days, however this will have a Parish wide impact. (Currently the Parish Council do not have the diversion route or road closure plans referenced);
” Road closure along Lidgett Lane.
As you’re aware, our contract partner AGT is carrying out a large, £4 million investment scheme at Tankersley Waste Water Treatment Works. The work will improve the quality of the treatment processes on site, helping to ensure we meet our obligations to protect the environment for the future.
The project started in January and is progressing well; however, for safety reasons, we now need to close Lidgett Lane.
From 8 May until April next year, a road closure will be place along Lidgett Lane between the junction of Chapel Road and New Road. This is to allow HGV deliveries and site traffic to access the treatment works safely via the access road. We’ll ensure access is maintained for residents within the road closure, including those along the access track.
A diversion route for motorists will be in place via New Road and Pilley Green until April next year. I’ve enclosed a plan showing the location of the closure, along with the diversion route which I hope you find helpful.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst we carry out this essential project and we’ll keep you updated on our progress.
